Honoury RankThe following is a list of honourary positions that currently is within the guild along with the names of those who posses them and their meaning.
The meaning of the Guild RankUnlike most guilds the Ari Scara has a family tree hierarchy in contrast to a military hierarchy. The guild leaders and members thrive in mutual respect as opposed to commanders looking down upon soldiers. The mutual respect is understood as follows:Any one wishing to join the Ari Scara does so because he or she recognizes the ideals and qualities in the Ari Scara and he or she wish to be part of this. In order to get anything from the guild one has free one self of ego and the "I’m better knowing" -attitude and to acknowledge and respect the work and skill demanded to run such guild. The leaders of the Ari Scara respect any members who understand the reason for this work, effort and ideals and wish to be a part of it. A mutual respect like this is often seen in family. Maybe you can beat up your father but you don’t because you respect the things he stands for and the work he has done so you can live well. And maybe a father could beat up his son or daughter but he doesn't because who will then look after him when he gets old or the son or daughter gets strong enough to fight back. That and the fact that a father or mother loves their children. The Ari Scara leaders are of course not related to you in blood but the guild ranks represents the time and responsibility you have for the other members. Surely your big brother can tease you but he also looks out for you and works hard to make sure no harm will come to you. The ranks represent the time in which you were born into the guild and how active you have been in serving its purpose. To give English parallels refer to this list for better understanding:
Military rank and combat disciplineBeing an important asset of the hordes tactical and strategical endeavors the Ari Scara holds several military ranks within it. In the heat of battle its important not to loose focus of the objectives at hand and the outlines of the attack/defence, albeit the obvious confusion of such often makes it difficult. Therefore it is important that you listen and pay attention to those that outrank you militarily and do as they say as the precise carrying of orders can be crucial to the victory of the battle. Be there conflict of tactical interest or counterorders from equally ranked commanding officers, adhere to those that comes frome the Ari Scara as the non guild horde officers present at a current battle may not be aware of the special objectives the Ari Scara has for a perticular combat situation.Candidacy and achievements for guild ranksThere are several ranks in the guild some of hierachial importance and some honoury. All new members start as Wolfcubs(trial members) and must work their way through the ranks by performing task for the guild either alone or as a group. In order to rise from initiate a wolfcub members must do of the initiation guild event as decribed in Advantages . This is the transcendence from cub to wolf. Later promotions involve guild quests, raids and special tasks for the Fenris. Remember that as a part of the Ari Scara you represent the Ari Scara wherever you go in the game and it only takes one bad impression to ruin ten good ones so don't be a jerk.Guild Mechanics ExplainedGuild mechanics explained Although the Ari Scara is a family structured guild by origins, it is by game mechanics in essence a "dictatorship". This is not something we can change but we can as the group of fine people we are do our best not to make this fact an unpleasant form of family life.Still with this kind of hierarchically structure there are some things that cannot be circumvented or denied and that is the way it rains. Power means responsibility and there for those with the most power has the greatest responsibilities and that is to serve those with little or no power. But this also means that those with little or no power should adhere to guidance and orders from those above them in the hierarchy. This “dictatorship” can only function if it is based on mutual respect and that means not pissing down and kissing up but respecting both ways whether you are Wolfcub or Lupus. This is enforced by game mechanics in that the officers have promotional/demotional as well as banning/kicking rights. They have this because they have chosen to serve and found trustworthy to do so and therefor has the power to decide who should and shouldn’t be in the guild and who should be rewarded with trust or punished if they have acted foolishly or against the greater good of the guild. Remember leadership equals sacrafice NOT power! The power is also hierarchically meaning that officers with can only police those below them in the hierarchy. In game terms that means:
What is important is that you use the proper channels if you have something you need to know, say or ask that has importance for the guild. Meaning that if you for instance have questions then ask your fellow Wolfcubs or Wolfguards eventually by airing the subject in the guild channel. If no one can answer your question there then ask a Wolverine, if none are present or those present are uncapable of answering your question then ask a Fenris. If no Fenris can help you or none are present then ask the Silvermane or Lupus. But do not go straight to asking the Lupus if he can help you gather 8 pieces of linen cloth. Act mature and responsible and don’t waste other member’s time on trivialities! We would all like to help each other but not on the expense of our own time, everybody pays a monthly subscription to Blizzard for playing this game and none is playing solely to entertain your merits! As a guild we support each other when we can, but we are not slaves of each other and everybody deserves an equal amount of attention and a fair share of fun. The officers also pay to play, not only to make your life sweeter. |
