Songs

Shey has blessed us with a collection of her songs and has instructed me to tell that Jekktarr has been a main source of inspiration of these. Each of her songs has the story and explanation written and we can only hope and pray that she will gift us with a concert soon as they are all of them very lovely and heartfelt. Not all have been published yet but more will come soon...
Title Song Note
Azooqi and Sheyja The melody is slow and has a somewhat sad,
dreamy touch.

Daughter of hope, old promises broken
new promises made, new vows spoken
Loved by her father, thief of her mother
sister to many, now wife of another

Bound by blood, by soul and by bone
promises made older than stone

Sister in blood, she once saved my life
enemies first, grimly at strife
we fought one another, hated with passion
forced hunting together, our faces turned ashen

Black shadow growling, swift paws prowling by
A panthress leaping darkens the sky
Claws aimed at the throat, at skin lying bare
Girls in a fight, drawn into a nightmare

Bound by blood, by soul and by bone
promises made older than stone

Her eyes wide with horror, she was moving fast
She pushed me away, death leaping past
As keepsake a small scar instead of ruined face
And feared to the bones of death's embrace

Swirling and fighting, hitting the heart
Thrusting her dagger in danger's weak part
Searching each others eyes full of care
Knowing by heart our lives we will share

Bound by blood, by soul and by bone
promises made older than stone
Sheyja fingered the polished piece of a trollish skullbone she wore on a leather throng around her neck along with a collection of wyvernbones. Her fingers gently explored the fine engraving of the leaping panther, conjuring memories of old...
"She no be no amazon! She be too soft, spoiled by da smile of men!" Sheyja's eyes were dark and sparkling while she confronted Dji'ra, Azooqi's mother. Dji'ra smiled broadly at the young warrioress she had chosen as Azooqi's hunting mate: "Ya both will do jus' fine, me be sure of dat", and turned around, leaving Sheyja to her anger.
They had been on the hunt for three days now - wrath simmering between the two young girls till they were both heated up, clashing at the ledge of a mountain. Weapons drawn they circled each other, their faces grim and filled with rage. Suddenly Sheyja saw Azooqi's eyes widen in horror, reflecting a black shadow moving fast. Without further thinking Azooqi hurled herself forward, desperately trying to push Sheyja away. Deadly fangs, intending to be sunk deep into the girl's neck, missed, sharp claws streaking merely the left side of Sheyja's face. The young amazon showed a mixture of surprise and pain as she moved her arm upwards in defence. Dark, warm blood began to flow freely down her face, blurring her vision and leaving a copper taste in her mouth. Azooqi and the panthress were merged to a swirl of black and blue under a veil of red blood. She heard a cry of triumph as Azooqi sank her dagger deep into the heart of the black cat.
Both girls were shaking as they hugged each other firmly, searching for comfort and the desperate try to keep each other grounded. With utter tenderness Azooqi moved one hand to Sheyja's left eye and with a sigh of relief noticed that the panthress had merely bruised the eyebrow. "Ya will keep a scar, it be a deep wound." Sheyja nodded slowly, gently taking the hand of Azooqi: "It will be a reminder for mah blood debt. I owe ya, Azooqi." They locked eyes for some seconds and then they both smiled. Sheyja dipped her fingers into the blood and smeared it onto Azooqi's lips: "Bound by blood, Azooqi." Without taking her eyes off Sheyja, Azooqi cut her wrist with the dagger she still clasped in her hand. The panthress's blood and hers mingled to a dark, shimmering line. "Bound by blood, Sheyja", Azooqi replied and smeared her blood onto Sheyja's lips. They had taken a bond to be bloodsisters.

Death of the Emperess The melody has nothing sad in it, it is a
triumphant song like the old war songs of
her amazon tribe.

Long was the fight, noone was spared
Through the palace echoed the cheers
Stories they told, songs they shared
Draining endless mugs of beers

The Emperess raised a cup at her guests
While a cheer went through the room
"Mah friends, dis war been a success!
Our enemies faced deir doom!"

Raising her cup high up she spoke:
"Me honour da deads wit' a pledge.
May our axes nevah miss a stroke,
May our swords nevah miss deir edge."

A cheer rose up like a crashing wave
They drained the cups to the last drop
While Death rose from the enemy's grave
Wanting the one yielding his crop

He entered the room, meeting her eyes
And she knew her soul was his to take
"It be time to say mah final goodbyes.
Good me lived mah life fulleh awake.

Me laughed like hell, cried like da sky
Me shared happiness, sadness an' rage
Me drained da cup, me rose up high
Me gave ya souls, so carry mah wage."

She rose to her feet, gave him a bow:
"Me ask ya but one little grace
Lemme quietly sneak out on tiptoe
Wit'out spoilin' da party in any case."
Sheyja sang this song on the Lujoria Memorial Party to honour the fallen Emperess Lujoria Lai'kaboo – a leader she respected, a sister she loved and a friend she hold dear.

Sheyja's speech before she sang:
"Friends be kisses blown to us by da spirits an' today me wanna say t'ankya to da spirits for blowin' a kiss at me. As long as me lives me will feel its soft touch on mah cheek. Me will honour dis kiss wit' a song.
Me no wanna sing a sad song for Lujo. A friend be one who knows da song in ya heart an' sings it back to ya when ya haf forgotten da words. Lujo nevah reallay had a sad song in her heart an' so me canna sing a sad song."
